The Spring Electronics Recycling Day for Decatur is Saturday, March 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The location has been moved from Decatur High School to:
the Public Works office at 2635 Talley Street off Columbia Drive south of DeKalb Avenue.
Events are open to residents of any community.
Almost anything with an electrical cord can be recycled with the exception of microwave ovens.
*No *furniture, lamps or vacuum cleaners.
Do recycle telephones, computers, typewriters, label makers, fax machines, game controllers, digital cameras,
batteries, routers, remote controls, radios, lawn mowers and garden equipment.
If you drop off a television set, you will need to pay a fee of $10 cash per set (the exact amount, in cash, must be provided).

The City of Decatur is hosting its first Paper Shredding and Styrofoam Collection Event on Saturday, March 31st from 9am-1pm. There is not cost for participation. This is a great opportunity to get rid of that bulky styrofoam you’ve been saving and ensure that your important personal documents are disposed of properly. AAA Security Shredding, Inc., provides secure on-site document shredding, and all shredded documents will be 100 percent recycled. Most document types are acceptable.
Styrofoam Recycling Guidelines
Make sure foam has the “6″ symbol on it
Rinse and separate food service containers from other foam
No straws, lids, tape or stickers
No foam peanuts or insulation material
